Making Money For Schools

Tonight I took a very good friend of mine to a fundraiser event for building schools for underprivileged children in Cambodia. The food was great, the entertainment ... entertaining, and the hall was fabulous. Everyone was dressed in their best suits and dresses. All in all it was a great evening!
But I'm not posting this just to brag about the great evening I just had. I wanted to tell you about my favorite part.

I saw someone change.

My friend who reluctantly tagged along after much cajoling and persuasion had a visible change tonight.
She tells me that feels she can do so much more now, that she can feel herself thinking less negatively about herself now than she used to just this morning.
I've had a few long discussions with her in the past telling her that it's her right and duty to take control of her own life, feelings, and emotions. I think it might have helped a little, but actually being in a positive environment where people are all celebrating change and success made all the difference to her.
She told me that now everything that I've been trying to tell her, and help her with is starting to make a difference to her.

This has been a great source of encouragement to me.

For the first time I thought to myself that it may be a worthy cause to take on coaching as a career.
